Description: Join the city of Penticton as we take an in depth look at HVAC systems and the BC Energy Step Code.

Learning Objective: Understanding the whole system approach by correct component sizing and options to reach higher steps of the BC Energy Step Code.

Guest speakers:

Mark Bernhardt, B.Sc. CPHC, REA – President Bernhardt Contracting:
Mark is the President of Bernhardt Contracting Ltd., a licensed builder based in Victoria BC. In 2012, Bernhardt Contracting built the first Certified Passive House on Vancouver Island, and has since gone on to build or consult on dozens more.
Mark is also a Registered Energy Advisor and Passive House Consultant, and over the past few years has spent much of his time helping other builders gear up for Step Code and higher performance buildings.  He serves on several provincial code comities and chairs the CHBA BC technical committee.

Marilyn Christensen:
Fortis BC Marilyn Christensen is a FortisBC Energy Solutions Manager for Local Governments and Municipalities for the province of BC.  She is ready to assist with your energy conservation and management needs so you can save energy and money plus reduce your GHG footprint. If you are looking to purchase or upgrade natural gas or electrical equipment, she can assist you through the application process and help determine your eligibility. As a Certified Energy Manager with 10 years plus of energy management project experience, Marilyn is more than happy to assist you with your municipality energy reduction and management needs.
